Cingular Wireless and Motorola today launched the exclusive Motorola V551 phone, which uses EDGE technology to provide a multimedia experience for users. The phone is now available for $99.99 (after $50 rebate and a two-year contract) at Cingular's retail locations.
The Enhanced Data for Global Evolution network provides higher data rates than previous GSM/GPRS networks, Cingular says. The faster network lets users experience faster access to Cingular's Media Net to Web surf, download applications and to send and receive images.
Features of the V551 include video capture and playback, MP3 player (including the ability to play MP3s as ring tones), Bluetooth wireless, embedded speaker phone, and 5M bytes of memory. More details are available at the Cingular Web site.
I have this phone and I cannot say ENOUGH GOOD things about it. I love it. You can add a plugin, from www.blueinbox.com and it will check your e-mail, notify and so on.....Loving it in Austin.
