Buffalo Technology today said it now has several different capacities available for its DriveStation line of external hard drives. The DriveStation is now available in 80G-byte, 120G-byte, 160G-byte and 250G-byte versions.
The DriveStation works with Windows and Macintosh systems via USB 2.0 or 1.1 ports, Buffalo says. The box comes with backup utility software that lets users customize their backup scheduling. It also has an Auto Power-On feature, which lets it associate with the power of the attached computer, and then automatically turn on or off with that computer. The DriveStation can also be used as a backup drive to Buffalo's LinkStation Network Storage Center, which connects to a home network via Ethernet port.
All models are available now, Buffalo said. The 80G-byte version costs $119; 120G-byte costs $179; 160G-byte costs $199; and the 250G-byte model costs $299. More information is available at the Buffalo Web site.
