Cisco's Linksys wireless division this week announced the Linksys Wireless-G Presentation Player (model WPG54G), which connects to notebooks or desktop PCs to let users share presentations on projectors, monitors, LCD screens or other VGA-compatible devices.
The Presentation Player connects via a standard VGA connector to a projector or monitor, and also acts as an 802.11g wireless LAN access point. Any wireless computers within range of the device can connect to the player and project screen images to the VGA device without having to switch cabling, Linksys says. The Presentation Player supports displays up to 1,024 by 768 resolution and 24-bit color, has 32M bytes of flash memory to let users download presentations directly onto the player (via USB port), and supports 128-bit WEP encryption.
The device is available now, and will sell for about $350, Linksys says. Read the press release for more details.
