Far be it from us to suggest that people use their cell phones to make phone calls, but for users who want to do more with their devices, they can now read their favorite comic strips (known as 'the funnies' to those of us old coots).
GoComics LLC (a joint venture between uclick and Handtap Communications) announced today that it will publish a broad mix of content for wireless devices, including comics like "Garfield," "Ziggy", "Cathy", "Fox Trot" , "For Better or For Worse," and others. The "Best of GoComics" application are comic strips reformatted to fit onto a small mobile phone screen, allowing users to page through each panel.
The first series, "Best of Garfield," will be sent as a Multimedia Message Service (MMS) message to subscribers, with the service being launched over Cingular and AT&T Wireless, the company said in a statement. For more details, go to the GoComics Web site.
Now if they can get "Get Fuzzy" on my phone, then we're talking.
