Is that a data storage card in your wallet or are you just happy to see me?
Freecom Technologies said this week it is shipping its USBCard to North American and South American markets. The USBCard is a data storage device about the same size as a credit card, with a USB connector attached to it. The card connects to a Windows PC (Windows 98 or higher), Macintosh or Linux computer. The card can store up to 1G byte of data, the company said.
Prices for the card starts at $99.99 for the 128M-byte version; $139.99 for 256M-bytes; and $229.99 for the 512M-byte version. Pricing on the 1G-byte card was not announced. More information is available at the USBCard Web site.
Freecom said it can customize the USBCard and turn it into an advertising and branding tool for companies ("your logo here" type situation). Go to the "My Card" Web site for more details.
