Lexmark this week launched a photo printer for under $100 that includes slots for digital camera media cards. The Lexmark PrinTrio Photo P3150 can generate borderless 4- by 6-inch and 8.5- by 11-inch prints, and also includes a 48-bit flatbed scanner for transferring traditional photos into digital pictures.
The built-in card slots support Compact Flash Type I and II, SmartMedia, Memory Stick, Secure Digital (SD), MultiMedia Card (MMC) and Microdrive media formats. The scanner supports a 600 by 1,200 pixels/inch resolution, Lexmark said. In addition, when connected to a PC the PrinTrio can let users make reprints quickly at the touch of a button.
Bundled Photo Editor software includes features such as red-eye reduction, cropping and resizing, as well as contrast and brightness adjustment functions.
The printer costs $99 and will begin shipping at retailers soon, Lexmark said. For more information on the new printer, go to the Lexmark Web site.
