Canon today announced a new inkjet printer that lets users print directly from any PictBridge compatible camera or camcorder. The i560 Desktop Photo Printer costs $129.99 and will be available later this month, Canon said.

Canon-PictBridge-PhotoPrinter.jpgThe printer can print pages at up to 22 pages per minute in black, and up to 15 ppm in color, Canon adds. It has a maximum resolution of 4,800 by 1,200 dpi in color. To print without a computer, users can connect a digital camera or camcorder to the printer via USB cable, Canon said. It is also backwards compatible with all Bubble Jet Direct compatible cameras, the company added.

The i560 printer supports Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0, ME, 2000, and XP, as well as Mac OS 8.6 to 9.x, and OS X versions 1.2.1 to 10.2.x. For more information, go to Canon’s Web site.
