Belkin to ship 8-in-1 media card adapter

Belkin this week announced a new Hi-Speed USB 2.0 8-in-1 Media Reader and Writer, a $39.95 device that lets users edit, store, and transfer files among eight different types of media cards. Belkin says the device will ship on May 30.
The device has four slots that support eight types of media – CompactFlash I, CompactFlash II, SmartMedia, Secure Digital, MultiMedia Card, IBM Microdrive, Memory Stick, and MemoryGate Memory Stick. The device gets power from the USB port, so no external power supply is needed.
Bundled with the device is Ulead’s DVD PictureShow 2 SE Basic for PCs software, which lets users enhance and share photos on CDs, DVDs and TVs, Belkin says. The device also comes with Ulead Photo Explorer 2.0 SE for Macintosh computers. The Photo Explorer software lets users browse, organize, adjust, and share images, MP3 files or video.
