Network World Fusion, 03/27/03

ViewSonic said this week it is shipping its NextVision M2000 Digital Media Center, a digital entertainment product with digital video recording features. The M2000 uses Microsoft’s Windows XP Media Center Edition OS, and costs about $1,895 (with $100 rebate).

ViewSonicM2000-small.jpgThe M2000 combines a digital video recorder, CD/DVD player and writer, MP3 music library and digital or video photo albums into one device. The device includes a 2.8GHz Pentium 4 processor, 160G-byte hard drive, and multiple inputs and outputs, including USB and FireWire. The M2000 can be placed in either a horizontal or tower orientation, ViewSonic says.

Sonic MyDVD MediaSuite software is included, which lets users burn DVDs. For more information on the product, go to the ViewSonic Web site.
