Sinbon Electronics recently announced two new connectivity products in the USB 2.0 space.
The USB 2.0 4-Port Hub lets users connect USB 2.0 devices (such as scanners, printers or DVD drives) to a network hub. The hub includes a two-color LED display, that shines green when the device is working normally, and red when the device is malfunctioning. In addition, the hub has a power switch that can be turned off to prevent the hub and computer from being damaged in the case of a power surge or device short circuit. The hub supports Windows 98, 98SE, 2000, ME and XP, and Macintosh OS 9 and above. Pricing was not announced.
The company also announced a USB 2.0 network/link cable, which lets users quickly connect two computers via USB 2.0 in order to let users share files or share devices such as printers, drives or modems. The cable supports Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000 and XP, and works with USB 1.1 or 2.0 ports.
