Audio primer problems

We've identified a couple of problems that could prevent you from hearing one of our primers:

You're behind a firewall

Some firewalls are not configured by default to allow streaming media broadcasts. Try this: Call up your RealAudio player by itself, click on View, then Preferences then Transport. Click on the "Use Specific UDP Port" box, hit OK, then try calling up the primer again. If that still doesn't work, talk to your system administrator about a specific port number to use.

Real Networks firewalls page - More detailed explanations for both end users and system administrators.

For Windows Media users, select "Tools", "Options" and click the "Network" tab. Make sure "Multicast", "UDP", "TCP", and "HTTP" are checked off.

Slides not advancing on Windows Media version

Make sure the "Run script commands when present" option is selected. Go to "Tools", "Options" (see how) and click on the "Security" tab and make sure the run script commands option is checked (see how).

Incompatible player

We encode our audio and video files to work with the widest array of player versions as possible. However, some times older players have trouble playing newer files. Try downloading the latest FREE players:
