Keeping quiet

One of these companies has yet to uncloak fully, while the other is back in quite mode after realizing its original vision wasn't sharp enough.

Maranti Networks
Selected in 2002.
Storage networking products.
No additional funding since December 2001.
Update: Postponed providing details on anticipated application-aware storage networking platform till midyear.
Surgient Networks
Selected in 2001.
On-demand computing products.
No additional funding reported since November 2001.
Update: Exited the high-performance streaming media business and is recasting itself as a provider of utility computing products; under direction of new CEO Bill Daniel, formerly a senior Vignette executive; this is considered a make-or-break year.
