Zain Sierra Leone announced on Friday the launch of three services for its subscribers under the provision of Unstructured Supplementary Services Data (USSD).
The "Call Me" service allows subscribers to send messages, even when there is no call credit on their phones, asking other Zain users to call them, said Ann Marie Ansumana, Zain's brand and communications officer. "Know Your Number" is for those who find it difficult to remember their phone numbers, she said, while "Notify Me" lets subscribers know if a number they are trying to call is switched off or out of the network coverage area.
"Zain USSD service does not require additional ordering or activation," Ansumana explained. "It is provided for you on a permanent basis, free of charge."
USSD service will give subscribers easy access to the value added services available on Zain's tariff plans, she added.
