HP this week extended its relationship with Cisco to resell the company’s recently introduced Fibre Channel switches.
HP previously OEMed a small Fibre Channel switch from Cisco and has now agreed to resell Cisco’s entire line of MDS 9000 Multilayer Directors and Fabric Switches.
These switches include the MDS 9509 Multilayer Director and the 9216 Multilayer Fabric Switch. HP will add the switches to its line of StorageWorks storage area network products.
Cisco’s MDS 9000 switches are designed for SAN consolidation and expansion of storage resources. They provide multiprotocol support, traffic management, virtual SAN functionality and role-based security. In addition, they are integrated with HP OpenView Storage Area Manager.
Cisco has previously announced that IBM, EMC and Hitachi will resell its new storage switches.
The products are available now.
