Software vendor Arkivio updated its storage management software for Unix networks.
Arkivio auto-stor for Unix, which allows IT administrators to manage the growth and storage of data, now works with Unix servers in heterogeneous direct-attached, network-attached and storage area network environments.
Arkivio has added the capability to manage storage attached to servers running Unix. Users can monitor total capacity and utilization and report on the data resources across their network. Previously, Arkivio only worked with Windows-based servers.
Arkivio’s auto-stor software collects information about data and storage resources, analyzes it, and then places data on the most appropriate storage source according to rules the storage administrator defines. Data for instance may be migrated from a full volume to a volume that is underutilized or from more expensive Fibre Channel storage to less-expensive Advanced Technology Attachment storage as management needs change.
Arkivio’s software works without placing an agent on each monitored device and allos customers to maximize their resources, as well as optimize their backup windows.
Arkivio for Unix is available now, and the pricing starts at $3,000 per terabyte.
