Mobile phone maker Nokia last week announced a definitive agreement to buy Telekol for $56.5 million.
In acquiring the Massachusetts corporate communications company, Nokia seeks to solidify its IP telephony and wireless LAN range of corporate communications offerings, the Finland company says.
Telekol produces computer telephony software, servers and hardware for corporate customers and currently employs 60 people. Its primary product is IntegraXTM, a multimedia and multiapplication server for small to large businesses.
Nokia last week posted third-quarter profits of $688 million, a 38% increase over the same quarter last year.
