" 'It cost us somewhere between $75,000 and $100,000, but it was reasonable enough to fit into out HIPAA budget,' says Gillespie, adding upper management pays close attention to meeting HIPAA's security rules for protecting unauthorized access to patient data."
As far as I know, dentists are also included in the plans for interoperable electronic health records. I am a general dentist with an average-sized dental practice. I gross less than $500,000 per year. Is my practice to be held to the same standards by HHS as business entities which can "reasonably" fit $75,000 and $100,000 into a HIPAA budget?
HIPAA is absurd in dentistry. Sooner or later, someone will discover this huge blunder.
